Minutes for UPE 10 September 1998

master and secretary.
Goals for this semester:
David Pauls offered the following as goals for UPE this
semester:
- organize resources and activities so new leadership can integrate
easily in the future and not have to start from scratch.
- the 15th of September is the end of the drop-add period, at which
point we will get a list of potential members
- tutoring cisc 105, 181 and 220
- "did you know?" tip sheet and getting it seen in the Review, ACM news
letter, and the web page
- Presentation speakers (jobs)
Ben Sussan Proposed the following:
- Help the LUG (Linux User Group) create a comprehensive checklist for
security of Linux boxes on the campus network and get it
distributed.
- consideration of an associate membership status
The UPE web page
Dave Pauls says the web page needs updates
including:
- A new membership list (we should check on the status of old
members)
- A "last updated" frame to float at the bottom
- A link from main UD pages
The next meeting will be sometime after the
18th
